Interventions for the victims
Compensation of Rs. 157,60,000 as of 17 August 2010
ACHR's action includig under its National Campaign for Prevention of Torture in India have led to the award of Rs 1,57,60,000 as compensation for victims and/or their families in 50 cases involving 136 victims. The cases taken up by the ACHR included not only torture and extrajudicial execution by the security forces, but also abuses by the armed opposition groups. The compensation also included government job for two relatives of the victims.
